Jim Trebbe - Chairman and CEO

As a respected leader in direct marketing for more than 30 years, Jim Trebbe has played a vital role in Amergent's continued growth and success. A co-founder of the company, Jim leveraged his expertise in database management to expand the company into a full-service agency providing a range of services including creative and strategy development.

Under his leadership, Amergent has evolved from a two-person consulting team to a burgeoning, nationally known direct marketing agency offering a wide array of integrated direct response programs and services.

An active voice in the direct marketing community, Jim is a member of the Direct Marketing Association, DMA Non-Profit Federation and the New England Direct Marketing Association. He has served as Director of Membership for the New England Direct Marketing Association.
Jim holds a BS in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He recently served as Vice President for Development of the MIT Club of Boston, an alumni group that doubled its membership when he assumed membership responsibility.

 

 

 

Jack Doyle - President

Since 1978, Jack has been involved with providing direct mail fundraising and consulting services to a variety of non-profit organizations.

A graduate of Tufts University with a BA in Economics, Jack began his professional career on the client side, working on the Annual Fund for his Zeta Psi National Fraternity Headquarters, an Epsilon client in 1976. Two years later, he became a customer service contact on the agency side.

Jack joined Amergent (previously known as Target Marketing) in 1986. He has been President of Amergent since 2001.

He has been a speaker for DMA, NCDC and regional NCDC meetings. Jack is the Board Chair of the Association of Direct Response Professionals (ADRFCO). Previously, he served as a Corporate Partner Representative to the NCDC Board and as Vice Chair of the DMA Non-Profit Federation.

  Rick Hohman - Chief Operating Officer

Rick entered the Direct Marketing field in 1983, and has been with Amergent since 1996. He is responsible for overseeing the accurate, on-time and on-budget delivery of client marketing materials. He is currently responsible for managing the planning, budgeting and implementation of clients' marketing initiatives. Rick attended Bentley College and Salem State College. He is a member of the Direct Marketing Association and the New England Direct Marketing Association.

Prior to joining Amergent, Rick worked on accounts including Fidelity Investments (retail and institutional), Bausch and Lomb, MCI Telecommunications, Anne Klein Designs, NYNEX and CARE.

 

 

 

 

Mary Bogucki - Vice President

Mary has been with Amergent since 1999 and currently serves as Vice President. She has spent 30 years in client and project management. For the past 15 years, she has focused on direct marketing in both the commercial and not-for-profit arenas, bringing results-driven strategic direction, production know-how and overall campaign management to her clients.

She and her team are privileged to deliver successful marketing campaigns, award-winning creative and in-depth strategic analysis to clients such as the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Maryknoll, Cleveland Foodbank, St. Anthony’s Guild, The Greater Boston Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, Philabundance, Gleaners Community Food Bank, St. Joseph’s Indian School, Vermont Foodbank, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Akron-Canton Community Foodbank and Freestore Foodbank.

Mary currently serves on the Advisory Council for the DMA Nonprofit Federation. She has had the pleasure of speaking on a variety of topics at NCDC, DMANF, Feeding America and AFP conferences.

 

 

 

 

Mark Connors - Vice President

Mark joined Amergent in 2002 to market Amergent’s Portfolio web-based, data management solution.

Mark has over 17 years of database management and technology solution experience in the nonprofit and association markets. Over his career he has helped hundreds of organizations select, implement and utilize technology solutions ranging from PC-based client/server systems to high-end mainframe service bureau solutions to web based/ASP solutions. Areas of expertise include: fundraising software systems, membership management systems and web technology.

Mark is a regular speaker on the subject of technology for nonprofits. Seminars & speaking engagements include: AFP – Association of Fundraising Professionals, NCDC – National Catholic Development Conference, and ASAE – American Society of Association Executives.

Mark is an active member of the Direct Marketing Association’s Nonprofit Federation, and is involved as a volunteer and board member for a number of local nonprofit organizations in his community.

  Kendra Malionek - Vice President

Kendra joined Amergent in 1995 and has developed a strong business acumen over the years, fulfilling roles with increasing responsibilities through numerous promotions.

Kendra is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and administration of the company's human resources programs. These programs include compensation and benefits, employment, training, organizational development and employee relations.

In addition to being a member of the New England Direct Marketing Association, Kendra also serves on their NEDMA Membership Committee. She is an active member of the Northeast Human Resources Association, the Society of Human Resources Management, and is involved as a volunteer and member for a number of local organizations in her community.

Kendra graduated magna cum laude from Emmanuel College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and brings over 20 years of management experience to Amergent.

 

 

Rick Christ - Vice President

Rick spent over 20 years in direct mail marketing and fundraising before devoting his efforts full-time to the internet in 1999. His experience includes account management at a fundraising agency for several clients, raising $10 million or more per year for each. Rick is a well-known expert in nonprofits' use of the internet, a frequent speaker at industry events and a prolific writer on the subject.

Rick is a past President of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington and is a Contributing Editor to The NonProfit Times Direct Marketing Edition. He is also a member of the Direct Marketing Association, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

  Robert Walsh, Vice President

Rob is the senior member of the Amergent Healthcare team and has been with Amergent since 2000. Rob has over 20 years of fundraising and agency experience working entirely with non-profits. Since joining Amergent, he has worked on all aspects of client account management including program strategy, creative strategy, online strategy and implementation, analysis and planning.

Prior to joining Amergent, Rob gained valuable experience at several universities and research centers in direct mail fundraising, event management and major gift solicitation which has given him a strong background in assisting his clients with their overall development efforts. Rob’s clients at Amergent include, among others, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, University of Iowa Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, and UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
